Aiare avalanche education

The avalanche phenomenon is something many question, and wish to know more about. As an American Institute of Avalanche Research & Education [AIARE] instructor, I provide the most up to date training and rescue practices generated by leading industry professionals.

NOT All avalanche courses are equal!

At theMAC.guide we chose to work with three specific AiARE providers - Aspen Expeditions Worldwide, San Juan Expeditions, Colorado Adventure Guides - because of the unique products they offer, their unbeatable terrain and, most importantly their focus on education upheld to the highest levels of professionalism.

These providers offer all three recreation level courses, in multiple different formats. Such as in-person, hybrid digital, snow camping, and backcountry hut based options. This allows you as the student to select the best format to meet your learning objectives. In every AiARE course students will experience the maximum amount of field time with a minimum amount of travel time.

Detailed course information can be found on the AIARE website:

These courses are educational based. They are not how-to-ski courses, nor are they guided trips.  If you are looking to expand your knowledge of snow science and the avalanche phenomenon, challenge what you already know, and have an amazing time in the process, join us.
