MENTORSHIP Meet-ups

A common challenge for backcountry travelers is answering the question,“why was that the right decision?” Sometimes if we make the wrong decision we get instant feedback, but we never get to try again. Other times we get no feed back, but were we right or just lucky. So how do we expand upon our education and grow as backcountry users, while also managing the risks? Mentorship.

Mentorship helps create an environment for participants to work through concepts along side an experienced professional. This stewardship can also elevate our community as a whole. To foster this concept, I offer FREE Mentorship Meet-Ups throughout the season.

Mentorship Meet-Ups are open to all backcountry travelers looking to better understand how to mitigate risk and have the most fun. Each Mentorship Meet-Up will have a primary topic of discussion for facilitated learning. Participants will be required to submit a “learning objective” during registration based on the primary topic. This is to help structure the day around the goals of experience of the group for efficient learning.

  • NOT a substitute for continued formal avalanche education
